Item # 06-0290 42" wide X 28" tall This sign was crafted from a board I salvaged from the old Davis barn in Albany, Oregon. The barn was built by Mr. Platt Davis in the 1930's and covered in tin, keeping the rough sawn lumber pristine for 75 years. The signs board was the "cat walk" in the rafters. |
Mr. Davis later became Mayor of Albany in the 1960's and 70's.The barn was lost to development. The paddle is incense cedar from a storm toppled tree on the Wade Cox Century Farm northeast of Albany, Oregon. The twig letters are split willow branches reclaimed from an irrigation canal near Baker City, Oregon. |
